So as many of you know Turbotax made a mistake but finally fixed it for those of us who filed early and live in California by rejecting the return and allowing us to fix it.
Part 2 of this saga is now the Federal tax return. Upon checking on the IRS website i get "A refund date will be provided when available."
Doing some more reading into this, it appears there is another problem for those of us who filed early that is likely causing a delay as there is an error in our Federal returns. Now this is something the IRS can fix but don't expect a return like normal within 21 days of e filing. My understand is it can take up to 10 weeks or longer once the error is corrected which could take up to another 30 days.
On the bright side California already refunded the money but the Federal like most I'm sure is where the bulk of your refund is and there is nothing we can do. In some cases the IRS might send a letter asking you to fix it in other instances if it was the same error box 30 if i recall than they will fix it, but expect major delays.

Bumping this up b/c this question is getting constantly asked just like the California issue with turbotax
What I posted was confirmed by IRS as well!
Omg thank you! When I called they did tell me jt was in the reject department and they’re fixing errors and there’s nothing I need to do on my end. They said it would take up to 4-8 weeks. Thank you this message makes me feel better. I also filed early.
Unfortunately you are not alone, it was painful enough with the turbotax issue for California early filers and now this.
I was told the error is related to the turbotax form and it is a simple fix but in any case it could have been avoided if turbo tax did not allow people to file early. It is just going to cause major delays for those expecting returns as no the IRS is backlogged fixing errors they normally don't have to fix in prior years.
I have elevated this up to the VP level to hopefully get some information about what Turbotax can do to help.
I believe this is similar than the California ordeal as they have already pushed the taxes to the Fed servers unlike the California returns which were not actually sent out.
